The Montessori school is as real as school gets. The materials used to teach in a montessori school are carefully structured to impart specific information in a specific place in a sequenced curriculum. Real core practical learning is embedded in the use of these materials.
“Play is the work of the child.” Children learn the moment they begin to work with the materials. The real materials in class, not toys produce real results. Children learn and grow through play based in reality,
Whilst we actively promote Freedom of choice, it is freedom within limits. We believe every child learns best when the tasks genuinely interest them. We therefore choose to follow their motivation. We only redirect to other areas where they are gravitating towards one particular area only. We do this to encourage well roundedness.
Yes, it is offered to every biological sibling, it increases as the number of siblings increases.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, this changed as follows:

We respect the child’s work and right to self correct. The teacher does not interrupt the child’s work. The child should be learning on their own, directing their own work and making their own discoveries with guidance only from the teacher. The Montessori materials also have the Control of Error quality that enables a child to complete and correct the task without assistance from a teacher or an older child. It allows a child to see visually if a mistake is made and correct it.
